RIP Eli Wallach

Dead at 98, but what an amazing life.

What an incredibly versatile actor he was. I was not aware that he had a master's degree in education, nor that he was a captain in the Army Medical Corps during the Second World War.

 

"Blondie!" RIP Tuco.

 

A college friend who was among the three guys with whom I shared a studio apartment on the upper east side in the early '80s, was stage manager for an Eli Wallach-Anne Jackson show called Twice Around The Park, which had a 3-4 month run in the winter of '82-'83. So I had an opportunity to go back stage after one of the shows. They both seemed incredibly gracious and charming.

 

Quite possibly the only actor with a Mexican bandito, a Mafia don and a rabbi on his resume.

RIP.

 

Loved his turns on Law & Order.

R.I.P. to a life well-lived.

 

Tim Wallach? Jonah Keri will be devastated.

His role in "The Holiday" was so sweet as an old Hollywood screenwriter.

 

Amazing he was never nominated for an Academy Award. One of the special ones.
