    I disagree. Sure, it can be viewed that way, but I found it very uplifting that he was able to bring back people who had been gone so long. And I am also sure that the staff viewed those patients much differently after they "awakenings" knowing that they were aware of everything going on around them.

    I suppose, but it was just crushing to watch DeNiro's character revert.

    Didn't realize he was the inspiration for Bill Murray's character in "The Royal Tenenbaums," but it makes total sense.
