    Soul Train creator found dead in Sherman Oaks from self-inflicted gunshot wound, L.A. Times reports.

    One time I couldn't fall asleep around 3 a.m., so I turned on the TV expecting infomercials or other drek. I found this show, and it was from an episode around 1975.

    I looked forward to insomnia from that point on. RIP.

    Wow, and only 75 too. Soul Train was a nice alternative to AB and an opportunity to see the soul and R&B artists that would not otherwise be shown. RIP.

    Until about last year, WGN used to show reruns of Soul Train on Saturday afternoon. My kids loved the show as much as I used to, albeit somewhat more ironically.
