Longtime PR man for the Red Sox has died of cancer. I only dealt with him occasionally and enjoyed dealing with him. But I'd like to know what Michael Gee thought of him.

Bresch was a real good fellow. He was a completely old school baseball lifer, with most of the pluses and relatively few of the minuses that entails. He was always extra nice to me when I was at the Phoenix, I think because I was somewhat lower key than my predecessor George Kimball.

Dealt with Dick while working MLB beat for stretch. Enjoyed his presence in press boxes. RIP.

You would almost have to be.

That said, RIP to a good guy.

George Kimball was one of the best friends I ever had, and one of the reasons I admired him was he couldn't stand boredom, and would throw dynamite into the pond if he saw it as too still.
