RIP Dennis Farina

    He was a good cop and a better actor.

    Dennis Farina -- who starred as Det. Joe Fontana on "Law & Order" -- died today in Scottsdale, Arizona after suffering a blood clot in his lung. He was 69.

    Farina is a Hollywood legend -- who appeared in tons of classic films and TV shows including "Get Shorty," "Snatch" and "Midnight Run." He also appeared in HBO's series "Luck."

    Some guys have that natural "Do. Not. Fuck. With Me." look about them.

    He had one helluva interesting story, going from Chicago cop for about 10 years to actor.

    And some people may have seen that look in a real-life situation: he didn't, to my knowledge, give any details about what he actually did or didn't do, but he has said he was on duty as a Chicago cop when the riots took place during the '68 Democratic convention.

    So memorable in so many great roles.... His role as JLo's dad in Out of Sight always sticks with me. Snatch and Get Shorty were a couple others that stood out...

    RIP to a great character actor...
