First Ted Stevens and Rosty, and now famous producer David L. Wolper. Wolper died last night at age 82. He produced "Roots", "Willy Wonka", and other movies and television programs.

I remember as a kid watching a special he did back in the 60's about the Long Family dynasty in Louisiana. It was the first time I heard about Huey, Earl, and Russell Long.

So what if he cast David Soul in the Bogart role in the Casablanca TV series? Roots was probably the most profound TV program ever.

    Death always comes in threes.

Because the number of dead people increases all the time.

So, eventually that number will be divisible by 3.

    Or 2. Or 5. Or 7. Or 163.
