Ozzie & Harriet were before my time, but this is sad considering....

    RIP.

The last, and probably least famous, of the Nelson family. As one who grew up watching Ozzie and Harriet, this is sad news.

    RIP David.

    Sad news indeed.

I don't doubt that David loved his brother very much, but I've always wondered how he felt about and dealt with Ricky's superstardom while he was comparatively low key. Maybe he actually preferred it that way? At any rate, RIP.

One of the local stations was running reruns of "Ozzie and Harriet" on Sunday nights last summer and fall and I DVR'd them every week. It was just a tad before my time, and I'm always somewhat surprised that it was never in the mix of syndicated reruns back in the 60s and 70s like "Leave It To Beaver," "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show."

Sure, it was hokey (very hokey) by today's standards, but it was always an enjoyable escape for a half-hour.
