    That’s way fewer than I thought. Although I think it’s right in line with the average of his era.

    The Royals won a World Series hitting a boatload of singles in 2015. For a team that made a lot of contact, singles were magical.

    Just under 68% that season. Probably a little above league average for the season/era.

    They were next-t0-last in homers, but top four in both triples and doubles to offset.

    Don't have the inclination to break down exactly how many singles vs. extra-base hits for each team, but your instincts are generally correct, considering that they were second in base hits in the AL while only seventh in total bases.

    Back to Damaso, let us not forget that it was his goodwill that got Alfredo Griffin an all-star game appearance in 1984.
