I am saddened by the loss of a good man, Dale Meggas, who passed away last week. Our career paths crossed several times over the years and he was always a pleasure to work with and, on a personal level, was fun to talk to and be around.

As a sports editor at the Sun Papers, he dedicated himself to tell the story of the local high school athletes, and I know that he enjoyed interacting with the coaches. He got into writing because it was his passion and he had a long career, even when the industry changed and he was forced to reinvent himself.

The world is a lesser place today without him. RIP Dale.

I met Dale when I was a PR assistant with the Detroit Express of the American Soccer League in 1981. He was a PR official with the Cleveland Cobras. He was a very personable fellow. I'm very sorry to hear this.
