No one will ever convince me that marijuana is a gateway drug. I know far too many people who smoke and have never done anything but smoke.

You're wrong as well, of course it's a gateway drug, just like alcohol is. Very few coke or heroin addicts didn't start first with alcohol then pot and moved on.

You can say it is all you want. I just don't believe it.

I have never thought to myself, "you know what would go great with this weed? A fucking eight ball."

Usually it's, "you know what would go great with this weed? A big-ass soda and some Doritos."

Yes, because that's how it happens.

So, explain to me how it does? You're the expert on everything.

Is it some guy who smokes weed every day for a year or so, then says "this high isn't working for me, I need something more, I'm gonna try some blow or some heroin."

How, in the lunacy of your twisted mind, does it happen?

How many coke heads have started with coke?

Smoking weed does not mean you will take it any further but it sure as hell ups the percentages.

I'm going to have to see some credentials from some of you experts.

So does drinking beer around cokeheads.

Does writing about addiction as a journalist count?

    No.

    Why?

(Granting, of course, that you're the journalists-should-defer-to-the-real-experts guy.)
