Yeah, it seems those types of shows have migrated to Nick and Disney.

Good Luck Charlie and Jesse are staples in our home...

My son likes Good Luck Charlie and iCarly when he's not watching Sprout.

My 6-year-old has a crazy crush on Teddy from Good Luck Charlie...

She's pretty hot. (Which I can say, since she's 18.)

Staples of my house as well, but I want to tear my hair out every time Good Luck Charlie is on.

We did like iCarly but it seems like that's pretty old now ... boys also liked Drake & Josh a few years ago.

anyway, maybe it's just my more discerning eye now, but I don't think those shows hold a candle to the choices we had growing up.

    Diff'rent Strokes
    Facts of Life
    Cosby Show
    Brady Bunch
    Gilligan's Island
    Family Ties
    Growing Pains
    Who's the Boss
    Silver Spoons
Love, Sidney (which they somehow pulled off without letting any kid know Sydney was gay)
    Punky Brewster

    etc. etc.

I had some of those growing up, but I'm also part of the Hey Dude, Clarissa Explains It All, Full House, Salute Your Shorts generation.

Yeah, I can't think of a single show on the networks that would be appropriate for a kid under 10.

Watched most of those... Too young for Gilligan's Island and never heard of Love, Sidney. Watched Brady Bunch in syndication...

Also, Mork and Mindy and Happy Days were staples of my youth... Three's Company too...

Like newspapers, they're ignoring the future customers.

RIP Mr. Drummond, who I'll always remember for one of the more touching scenes on TV that has always stayed with me. The scene where Willis' drunken friend dies in a car accident, Willis starts crying and says he feels like a little boy for crying, and Mr. D. says, "No son, you're crying like a man."
