Ross Newhan, Hall of Fame baseball writer, posted on Facebook today that Pride was in camp with the expansion Angels in 1961. When he was cut, the clubbie snuck him a couple of tuna fish sandwiches because he knew Pride had nothing, including an unknown future.

Parents used to have Charlie Pride 8-tracks. Law-Liga, Kiss an Angel Good Morning, great voice, great stuff.

Lots of chatter that Charlie caught the bug at the CMA's, his last time in public before he got ill.
