Loved him in The Client Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. One of my absolute favorite childhood movies.

Eerie: When I woke up today, my visiting sister had the TV on in the living room -- it was Police Academy 2. Then a few hours later the news breaks that Bubba died.

Great great player. A feared player not because he was dirty but because he was so big, strong and agile.

    R.I.P. Big Bubba.

Interesting passage in Smith's LA Times obit regarding the Miller Lite spots:

best football player MSU has ever had. with the exception of Magic Johnson, best Spartan athlete period. I saw the 1966 MSU-Notre Dame game on ESPN Classic once and Bubba was disrupting everything Notre Dame tried to do on offense.

He's a starter on the All-Football turned actor team with Karras, Merlin Olsen and Rosie Greer. I'd put Deacon Jones in on passing downs.

You hit the nail on the head. Southern schools wouldn't recruit black players, which was sheer stupidity. "Oh, that's just the way we did it," some might say. It doesn't make it any less stupid.

    RIP, Bubba.

Didn't he write a book saying that the Colts threw SB III?

Had no clue about that one ... and he's been dead 10 years.
