    Fantastic books.

Fletch Won is the best by far. It's just a travesty that the movie will probably never get made.

    RIP

    Definitely agree.

Fletch is his best movie. Caddyshack is No. 2. The first Vacation is No. 3.

    It's Scotch-Romanian.

    That's an odd combination.

    So were my parents.

At the rate old movies are being remade, I put the over-under at 2011.

  11. The town of Shrewsbury MA - population 31,640 - was the proud home to both Gregory McDonald and Charlie Pierce. Central Mass at its finest.

An argument can be made for either being the better writer.

RIP Mr. McDonald - now in heaven you can exchange all the misplaced mail and messages from people who confused you with John D. McDonald and vice versa.

Let's hope likewise that Charlie Pierce's reign as the greatest living writer from Shrewsbury is an honor he gets to enjoy for decades to come.

John D. McDonald was greatness in his own right.
