It's NYT official as of a couple minutes ago.

Yeah, I saw it in a tweet from the Washington Post, though I was surprised. ESPN2 interrupted a WSOP tape for Sportscenter, spent about 10 minutes on Fernandez and is now in business-as-usual mode. Must be trying to get people in place?

And now ESPN has it, confirmed from his business manager.

And look, they have a Tom Verducci tinkly-piano obit set to go. How did they cut it together so fast?

This is a major, major loss. The King paved the way for what golf is today. From business to TV to the fans to sponsorships. Man, he did it all. From Arnie's Army to driving No. 1 at Cherry Hills.

    RIP to a legend.

Golf Channel, rightly, is all over this.

Chris Dufrense, via teh Twitterez, noted the LA Times is running his obit on Palmer, even though he's off the payroll.

The Simpsons had an Arnold Palmer drink joke tonight.

And it will most likely be the top five obits written on The King. Because it's Dufresne.

    HanSenSE and JC like this.

I'm playing tomorrow morning. I'll have to pour one out (Arnold Palmer) on the first tee.

Hope nobody gets stung later in the day.
