RIP Arcadius, moments after winning the Iroquis Steeplechase

    Very sad story out of Nashville this evening, as the upset winning horse collapses while posing for photos with his rider.

    That branch of the equestrian sports tortures the horse more than any other. That high-stepping gait comes at a high price.

    You're right about walkers, many of whom are abused...but the Steeplechase isn't for walking horses. Arcadius was a thoroughbred.
