RIP Andy Griffith

    TMC aired Griffith's film "Face In The Crowd" last night. Man did he make the screen crackle with that performance. Amazing stuff. He was extremely gifted in ways most didn't appreciate because he's so closely associated with the home-spun Andy Taylor character.

    Very interesting how that movie has been very rarely shown on teevee or cable in the years since. Perhaps it hit just a little too close to home for some of the big cable execs??

    Of course I suppose the fact it's about as hard a TV-PG type film as could have been made before about 1970 might also be a factor. If it came out today it would probably be a straight R.

    TCM shows it pretty frequently.

    Yeah, I saw it for the first time on TCM a couple years ago. Don't recall ever seeing it on any teevee or cable outlet prior to that.
