As I said before, the next person I meet who is offended by the term cracker will be the first.

 

I'm offended.

An award for being overly sensitive. Cracker is not a racist term.

 

The way you relate so personally to the African-American experience, it's always so hard to remember you are white.

 

According to who? The voices in your head?

 

You know people who think it is? I have never met anyone who does, but I don't live in the south.

It's certainly a racial term, as you wouldn't use it to refer to someone who isn't white. And, it's not a complimentary term.

If you can think of another racial term, that is not complimentary, yet is not considered racist, I'd like to hear it.

I had a teacher in high school named Fitzmorris who had to be held back after a student from another school called him a mick. I think he found it offensive.
