Richardson drops out

    The only ones who fit all three are Ed Rendell, Phil Bredesen and Jim Doyle. Doyle (Wisconsin) gives no regional balance. Bredesen (Tennessee) is interesting — grew up in NY/NJ and a Harvard grad — but totally unknown.

    It's actually a more interesting constitutional question than a cut and dried "no" on that, but I don't think Obama's gonna look that way. Clinton is, of course, an old, white, male (former) governor.

    Me too, Cadet.

    Big Richardson fan since he was my congressman during my 11 months in Eastern New Mexico exile. It was clear he was running for VP all the time. That said. he will be an asset to whichever Democrat moves into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

    And all of the players know it.
