MTSU played in the Tangerine Bowl after the 59 and 61 seasons, back when that was reserved for smaller schools.

Troy's student section cheer for the New Orleans Bowl:

"What comes out of a China man's ass? Rice, Rice, Rice.''

Rice gets a pass, after all, they won the baseball national championship a few years ago.

Trivia: Rice once owned the land under Yankee Stadium.

More trivia: My aunt went to Rice when it was Rice Technical something or other.

Interesting stat I read in someone's left-behind USA Today while waiting for a twice-delayed layover flight home from the holidays -- the four smallest D-I football schools (Rice, Navy, Tulsa and Wake Forest) will all play bowls this season.
