So far love what I hear from Rex Ryan making the "talkie" rounds.

If he wins he will own the town. The guy is the exact opposit of all the Parcells diciples.

First reaction he comes across as John Wayne storming into town.

I now can see why the Ravens D was so good.

I knew another Ryan who coached a good defense and talked a good game. It didn't work out so well for him.

How so - the other has 2 Super Bowl rings - albeit as Def coord.

Not many people realize he won a ring with the Jets.

  5. Let's wait to see who he nominates for Treasury.

    He's no Tim Tebow...

I was referring to Buddy's record as a head coach. He acted as if he was as good or better a coach than Parcells and Gibbs when he was with the Eagles, then failed to win any playoff games.

    Is that true?

THat would be the most talented squad I have seen (minimum three consecutive seasons) to not win a playoff game.

    1988 Divisional playoff: Bears 20-Eagles 12
    1989 Wild Card playoff: Rams 21-Eagles 7
    1990 Divisional playoff: Redskins 20-Eagles 6.
Ryan was fired after 1990 season. PS: The 1989 and 1990 losses were at home.

Well, he seems full of himself – which is fine when Ed Reed and Ray Lewis have your back.

The next team head-coached by a Ryan with a sustained, legitimate NFL-calibre offense will be the first.

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I'm not sure that Ryan said anything that other coaches haven't. His team is going to be disciplined and aggressive. How is that any different from what other coaches vowed?
