Watched parts of a replay of GM 6 of the Western Conference Finals from 1974-75, Golden State v. Chicago.

Rick Barry, Keith/Jamal Wilkes, Bill Bridges, Clifford Ray v. Chet Walker, Bob Love, Norm Van Lier, Jerry Sloan, Nate Thurmond (too bad he wasn't a Warrior then).

Barry at 6'8" was damn good. Sure he was a head-case, but the man could shoot jumpers going left, going right, turnarounds and forgot what a passer.

Game seemed just a bit slower, but the shooting was there, the passing was there, harder fouls. Jumping was there, saw Ray slam one down as vicious as anything these days.

Side note; caught a little of a players roundtable last week on NBATV (Open Court I think) with Barkley, Webber, Steve Smith, Reggie, Kenny, Kerr and Shaq talking about Dr. J, Hakeem, etc. It was hilarious and fun.

Not to mention the psychedelic NBA on CBS theme song.

    Did somebody say "psychedelic?"

  4. Watched the game 7 of the 1969 Finals.

Really strange to see no 3-point line and even stranger to hear the clunk of the ball going through the old-fashioned non-collapsible rims.
