Resume question

I've got 8 different jobs listed on my resume, going back 13 years. How long do you keep your first couple jobs on your resume? Or is there a limit as to how many jobs you list?

Sorry if there is already a thread like this.

Sorry, some of us are busy.

My resume could potentially go back 30 years now ... needless to say, I didn't really worry about those first couple of jobs that I had when i was getting started.

But eight jobs in 13 years presents a bit of a problem, it seems to me. That's an above average amount of moving around. You may want to find a way to minimize that.

    The answer?

You might be better advised to try leading with a "skills resume" that also incorporates a chronological list. Any good resume book can further explain the concept for you.

Thanks. I was just teasing with my second post.

I actually haven't moved around that much. But, a couple of my 8 are on-going freelance gigs I have had at major daily papers.

I was told to include freelance assignments on the resume, as long as they have some meat to them. I wouldn't include it as a job listing if I wrote one sidebar for a paper, but I was a regular contributor (anywhere from 1 to 5 articles per week) to a major daily paper for about 4 years. That, and another freelance listing I have on my resume, overlapped full-time jobs.

    That's not a bad idea.
