This is all Ann Richards' fault. If she hadn't forced the compromise to make the Big 12 take Baylor or forget about Texas, A&M and Tech, she wouldn't have put Baylor in with the rest of the Big 12.

Texas Christian would be a much better fit for the Big XII than Baylor since the Horned Frogs actually, you know, give a shit about fielding a competitive team. Actually, I think TCU has a better winning percentage against the Big XII than Baylor. Put those slaps in C-USA where they belong.

Doesn't Baylor have a women's basketball national championship hanging around?

Yeah, it's like saying the B10 dumps Northwestern for Notre Dame, Mizzou, or Pittsburgh. The only thing NW is good in is n academics.

There's a slight addition to your thought BYM. Baylor is competitive in women's basketball, softball, and baseball. Basketball and football are the ones who are not bringing up the rear and hurting BU's reputation in the Big XII.

Dumb statement ... Baylor is too good in some other sports, especially women's basketball, for that line to stick. Football isn't the only thing that makes the major conferences tick.

By that same logic, Duke shouldn't be in the Atlantic Coast Conference because its football has been awful for most of the last 40 years. Good luck getting the Blue Devils kicked out anytime soon.

As a public institution with enrollment over 35,000, Houston matches up much better with the huge state schools (UT, TT and TAMU) which make up the rest of the B12.

Athletically, Houston has had its moments in the big-money sports, but none lately If there's going to be a B12 shuffle, Houston would make sense.

As a smaller church-affiliated school, Baylor would be a much better match with Rice, TCU and SMU, its former SWC-lower division mates, in a Texas wing of C-USA/WAC/Mountain West or whatever conglomeration comes out of the next round of shakeups.

Arkansas. Heard on the radio a couple months ago how in 10 years, Colorado would not be in the Big 12 any more, and if/when that happens, Arkansas would join, but that would also cause one southern team to play in the Big 12 North, or the Big 12 to do away with division play.

I thought I also heard at one time when the Big 12 was being created that TCU was to there instead of Baylor. can't remember why it didn't happen like that. ???

I second Arkansas being in the Big XII.

Then Georgia Tech could come back where it belongs and never should have left — the SEC. Clemson would be a natural fit, too.

Arkansas has no business in the SEC. It makes no geographic sense. Too bad Memphis sucks in football; I think they'd fit in well in the SEC. Shady, yet sometimes dominant athletics, mixed with poor graduation rates.

John Calipari would never go for this.

And Memphis wouldn't win as many basketball games, which would hurt its recruiting.
