IIRC, this paper has a great story. There's another weekly (or biweekly) in town, which is owned by Hagadone. Hagadone brought in a publisher who was a bitch from hell, and proceeded to piss everybody in the Hagadone weeklies in the area off. There were multiple resignations of editors, and almost the entire staff of the paper in Ronan quit and formed this paper.

The Valley Journal, a weekly county-wide newspaper in rural northwestern Montana, seeks to fill two reporter/photographer positions and invites applications from candidates who enjoy covering local news and features. One position will work a beat that covers two small towns, while the other will serve as a full-time sportswriter for high school sports throughout the county. Both positions are based out of our main office in Ronan. Passion for writing and photography is essential, as well as a willingness to live in a rural area rich with seasonal outdoor beauty and wonderful people whose stories are waiting to be told. Coverage area is throughout Lake County, including a large portion of the Flathead Indian Reservation — we live in a beautiful valley that is truly one of the last best places. Writing skills should be strong and the ideal candidate should demonstrate equally developed photography skills. We will, however, help develop photo skills of the right candidate. Layout in Quark will be part of the job. We’re a small weekly (7,500 circulation) locally-owned by a core staff that is passionately devoted to quality community journalism. We seek long-term candidates who are committed to the same ideals.
