We've done this before, I'd rather not do it again, but I think he's a very bad guy.

    IMO:

Evil - Project for a New American Century (Use American military to accomplish its aims, say 'F You' to hundreds of thousands of instances of 'collateral damage')

Incompetent - 1) Greeted with flowers in Iraq, 2) Ordering promotions for girlfriend which end up jeopardizing your WB presidency

I think someone can be so focused on their evil intentions that it causes them to be incompetent to their actual responsibilities.

Not good. Best case scenario is that they are frustrated in their evil intentions and their lack of attention to other duties does no harm.

Of course, Wolfowitz was banging a drum for invading Iraq since about 1992, and he got his wish. Meanwhile, not much else got done.

My point being, he's one of the truly despicable because he has offered not one iota of pragmatism to his public service. It's all about the neo-con ideology, which he and others were making up as they went along.

I'm with you. I read in Rolling Stone, as a matter of fact, that Carter's family went against the wishes of nearly everyone in his Baptist church in the '60s and voted to allow black people to worship there.

Why isn't he more in touch with the American people?

    Two new updates from today:

    1) The WB executive board will yet allow Wolfowitz to defend his WB presidential record after Wolfowitz delayed testifying on Monday to have time to prepare with his defense with his newly-hired attorney

    2) 50 WB officials involved in the organization's corruption-fighting division called for
a quick resolution to the 'current leadership crisis' (likely in hopes of forestalling what they see as Wolfowitz' stalling tactics):

The WB investigative committee has apparently decided that Wolfowitz has violated the ethical standards of the organization:

    http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/asection/la-na-wolfowitz28apr28,1,6020540.story?coll=la-news-a_section

The article says that the committee has not decided whether to specifically ask for Wolfowitz' resignation.

Wolfowitz and his girlfriend - who received the exhorbant pay raise at the center of the current ruckus - are set to meet with the investigative panel on Monday to give their side of the story

Good. It'll give him something to do, when he's not with his paramour. :)

Talk of Wolfowitz and the WB executive board trying to negotiate a mutually satisfactory resolution to the current scandal. In the rumored scenario, Wolfowitz would resign but would apparently avoid official ethical condemnation of his actions:

Part of Wolfowitz' Monday defense of his actions is being disputed by a former WB official:
