WGFX-FM 104.5 The Zone in Nashville is reporting that Vanderbilt's FB coach Bobby Johnson has tendered his resignation. Presser is expected later on today. Listening to live stream now. This is puzzling to hear this.

Agreed. Seemed he was doing a pretty good job. Hope it's not health related.

Phil Fulmer has been contacted, according to one Nashville sports dude.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him take it.

Hell, he'd beat the door down to get an interview.

I didn't hear that about the possibility of Fulmer. The impression I'm getting is that they'll have an interim to coach the team this season and then do a national search after the season.

    I'm with Liut, I hope it's not a health-related situation with Johnson.

It's too bad Johnson doesn't coach at Florida. The AD would have some kind of dirt on him that would force him to finish his career there.

He's probably just giving up hope because the whole Jay Cutler thing was such a disaster....... :p

It is a curious departure; he pretty much had a job for life thanks to West End Academy's lower standards of football success.

The timing of it is seriously unusual. Let me echo the hope that it's not health-related. I think he's earned a lot of respect with the job he's done there.
