Fair enough... I am going to perform an SportsJournalists.com once-in-a-Halley's-Comet move and say that I was wrong and stand corrected. I underestimated the popularity of the dinosaurs.

Hall and Oates. That wouldn't be bad.

    Too controversial.

I would love to see prancing. Maybe it would increase the halftime female viewership.

For the Stones, Petty I could agree with you that they were dinosaurs. But Springsteen rocks as hard now as he did in the 80s. Go see him live and you'll see there's just no comparing him to them.

Hell, I've yet to find an equal to him in terms of performance live.

    I call AC/DC in 2010.

KISS is still around too. 2011 for them.

Would Pearl Jam be considered? Green Day? No Doubt (if they got back together)?

Big difference between somebody lip synching along with their own voice and some fraud having a one little girl lip synch to another one's voice because the one who actually has the talent also possesses teeth that aren't straight enough.

There are probably only about 10 acts that even qualify for consideration.

They can't be controversial. They have to be liked by people over 50 and people under 30.

Not too many acts fall into those categories.

Has Billy Joel ever done it?

Sang the anthem, but I don't think he's done halftime.
