    Great reporting story. While it says at least 9 of the Brass Hats wrote op-ed pieces for the Times, there's no accounting for how often, if at all, they were quoted as sources.

    Because of my interest in the Washington Post, I did an archives search there and found only one of them quoted in the Post and that was in an online chat about Kosovo.

    Makes me wonder why the administration kept these men away from print.

    Improving my reporting here....

    I screwed up and did a Post archive search only on "the last 60 days."

    A Nexis search of 18 men named in the NYT story has them in Post stories more than 100 times since Bush's first election. That makes more sense. And now I wonder how many times they were used by the Times -- and why the Times didn't tell us that itself.
