Dishonest, my ass. They paid the price the pump was set to.

The kid's error cost the station $1,439.05.

Remember those sweet, warm New England summers? Remember sipping lemonade underneath a shady tree? Remember when you hit that pedestrian with your car at the crosswalk and then just drove away? Pepperidge Farm remembers, but Pepperidge farm ain't just gonna keep it to Pepperidge farms self free of charge. Maybe you go out and buy yourself some of these distinctive Malano cookies maybe this whole thing disappears.

Gas was 32.9 a gallon in the late Sixties and early Seventies.

The 1973 gas crisis took care of that forever.

Au contraire. I'm dating myself, I know :D ... but the year I got my license, gas dropped to 69.9 cents/gallon in my hometown for two glorious weeks in July 1998.

Was back up to 99.9 cents/gallon by Labor Day, and never seen it under a dollar since.

When I got my license in 1999, gas in my part of New York was $1.21, I believe.

I feel bad for bitching about $1.25 per gallon in 2000. Really fucking bad.

And fuck that station owner. Fuck him in his stupid ear.
