    The 49ers just ripped up the final year of Kaepernick's deal because he outperformed it. Apparently the better play there would have been to tell him to suck it until 2015. Next year the Seahawks and Colts will rip up Wilson's and Luck's deals.

    Not sure why people think NFL contracts are inviolate until the day they end.

    Nobody thinks that. I just think it is funny that some folks defend franchises in MLB for using the rules to their advantage, then whine when NFL teams do it.

    There is no whining that NFL teams do it, we just understand why the players do it.

    Sure sounds like whining to me.

    I'm not complaining about the holdouts, either. I'm just saying that in most cases, the team is best served holding its ground.
