You know, I may be in the moinority, but I really liked the King Kong done a few years ago by the LOTR guy.

I would put that on the list.

I agree with Ocean's 11. The original was good, but looong. Although that next-to-last scene, with the camera panning the faces in the church pew, was outstanding.

I agree on Ocean's 11, except for one thing:

The original had the Rat Pack: Sinatra, Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. ...

    ... and Norman Fell.

    Godawful acting.

Studies show (that's my new voice of authority) that they were all stinking drunk throughout the shoot.

I liked the original better than the remake. But I'm also a big fan of the collective body of work that is Henry Silva.

Not true. If he was spup, he would have changed his avatar.

I'd like to see a remake of Gone with the Wind.

Or the Wizard of Oz with the Wayans brothers digitally playing all the munchkins.

  11. I bet Tom Cruise could do a helluva job with Citizen Kane. Brad Renfro would have been my first choice, but...

Many probably haven't seen it, but the Bogart version of The Maltese Falcon (1941) was superior to the versions that came before it.
