Reformatting, from scratch, my 2-year-old Dell desktop. FML.

My Dell Inspiron desktop has been giving me MUCHO fits recently, needing 10-20 attempts to fully boot up and failing often. So I saved my files, and am now reformatting from scratch.

What error message(s) are you seeing? Could be a hard-drive or other hardware problem rather than a software issue.

 

Guess this dispels any notion that PCs are better than Macs.

 

I had to reformat my HP, but it's older than your Dell. It worked like a charm after I did it.

 

It was giving me a variety of software-related issues at boot-up. So I quick-kicked on third down. Now, among other things, I need to figure out how to re-install my internet connection -- so I can begin installing the 5.8 trillion things the computer needs internet access to complete.

I have an Inspiron too and I've had big-time Internet Explorer issues.

Vista sucks.

 

Thing is, I am actually running XP Professional -- and re-installed it. I like it better than Vista.
