I believe it was actually in media. Could be wrong.

Zorn helped develop Brad Johnson and Hasselbeck. He played in the league for 10 years at a reasonably high level. He's an innovative coach and a strong teacher.

He is a better candidate for the job than Gregg Williams, Fassel or anyone else Redskins fans were trumpeting three weeks ago.

The sainted Gibbs wasn't a household name in 1980.

I don't like Snyder either, but who in the hell was he supposed to hire?

    Give him a chance.

The last time Gibbs left, they got Richie Petitbon. Zorn is a guy with a proven and successful track record.

Did they hire Zorn out of a want for him or no one else wanted to take the job?

Petitbon's problem is that Gibbs left at just the right time when the NFL was changing and the team didn't have squat to play with. Plus there was only so much magic Mark Rypien had left, after spending something like his first 18 seasons in the league on IR so that they could keep him instead of lose him in Plan B or something. Once Shroeder and Williams were gone, Rypien's deal with the devil kicked in and that clock went ticking.

Seriously, this is a rudderless ship. Wilbon can defend Vinny Raquetball all he wants, but there's nothing to suggest Vinny is anything more than Snyder's lackey. And Snyder is so in over his head, though when you make Lupica look like Muresan it isn't hard, that I'm going to have so much fun with this team.

okay, 'skins fanbois, you're all right. zorn has never, ever been a head-coaching candidate anywhere, but danny boy uncovered a hidden gem here. riiiight. ::) ::) ::)

and ljb, "zorn has a proven and successful track record?" doing what?

gimme a break. zorn has had as much to do with developing hasselbeck as i did. but danny boy spoke to him at length, turned to yes man cerrato and said, "this guy's a head coach!"

the rest of the nfc east says thank you, danny boy. believe me.

hey, if jimbo becomes a terrific head coach, i'll be among the first to applaud him. but his credentials can be matched/exceeded by plenty of other assistants waiting to be discovered, too.

yes, 'skins fans should be ecstatic over this. well done, danny boy!
