Went to our local museum (Oakland) and there was an exhibit on vinyl; wow was it fun, turntables you could actually use with a pretty decent collection of LPs. What was really enlightening was an exhibit where you played a Beatles 45 and then you could punch the button and see what the digital sound exactly synched to where you were on the 45; really made me miss vinyl/analog sound. I got to explain to my son the difference (in layman's terms) between analog and digital music.

Just the experience of pulling out the LP from the sleeve was sweet; then putting it on the turntable and lowering the needle, and finally the sound.

Only drawback though is that you're stuck with what max 45 mins a side when we can play digital eons continuously.

Went home and moped at my wife for prodding me to donate my LPs (oh where are they now?) when we moved out of our first home (and my cassette tapes too!!)

One of the biggest supporters of RSD -- Paul Weller -- says never again.

Sucks that people are trying to make a fast buck off Record Store Day.
Case in point -- there are 62 copies of Springsteen's RSD release "American Beauty" - up on EBay.
However if you look around the independent record store websites, you'll see that independent record stores are allowed to sell leftover RSD releases online beginning the next day.
Vintage Vinyl here in NJ has a lot of 2014 RSD leftovers up on its website:

"When I woke up, Mom and Dad were rolling on the couch,
Rolling numbers, rock and rolling, got my Kiss records out ..."

    Nice pic, MH :D

I'm happy to see a craft beer is the official sponsor!

I've missed this the past few years ... might have to stop in tomorrow.

We're lucky to still have a couple kick-ass record stores in the Spokane/North Idaho area.
