    Hysterical? No. Witty? Yes

  5. Snyder is one of my all-time favorites, if only for the smouldering cigarettes that always seemed to be nearby. (I remember when he had Barry White on for an interview, you hardly could see either one of them because of all the smoke they both were generating.)

  6. Lyman takes history out in the backyard and plays with it again.

Dick Cavett had a guest drop dead on his show, something none of the others can say.

On June 7, 1971, publisher J.I. Rodale, an advocate of organic farming, died of a heart attack during taping. Cavett was speaking with journalist Pete Hamill, and not realizing there was any trouble, said to Rodale, who appeared to be snoring, "Are we boring you?". The program was never aired and a rerun was aired in its place.

  9. Better than playing with yourself, which I'm sure you did while reading this story.

When you can't win the argument, insult a fellow poster, personally.

    Old story.

In fact, that should be your sig.

Tonight's Countdown was a retrospective of the Oddball segments. Good stuff.

I got tired of the redheaded flattop, so I switched to a hot female. The pic won't load for some reason.

    I'll find another one tomorrow.
