So much so that she has either forgotten her last name or gotten married...

With MLB, the NFL, the NBA and the NHL all having their own cable networks, at what point do they say screw ESPN?
ESPN is already charging cable ops a ton, the BCS deal will only jack that thing higher. I can see a day when the teams and the leagues provide live video and transcripts to to all of their press conferences some already do, provide stats, highlights etc. In short, about all that will be left for the likes of ESPN will be hearing about disagreements in the locker room.

CSN was one of the best concepts around. Then ESPN bought it ...

Other than the Monday Night game, so often skippable, no NFL fan has need to watch ESPN anymore. The NFL Network does everything better. Better reporting, better coverage of all teams, less childishness, less bullshit.

Hopefully the Baseball Network will be the same thing to all people.

What's worse? Poker and Rodeo on ESPN, or Countdown Shows on FSN?

And not just new countdown shows. The same old ones, recycled endlessly.

NFL Network HAS to get their highlight show on Hi-Def. They have to.

  7. Indeed. Remember the old promos?

    "CLAAAA-ssic SPOOOOORTS! CLAAAA-ssic SPOOOOORTS!"

... complete with a audio promo that sounded like the opening chords of "Jesus Christ Superstar."

And LJB ... completely agree. Have NFL Network here and it's better done than ESPN. Also, the talking heads, Schefter and the others aren't afraid to go at it with issues. That was a little surprising considering it isn't always very promotional or necessarily painting the NFL in the best possible light.

Hey, Sam Horn hit a pair of 3-run homers in that game, and I'm talking truly monster shots. Shut your pie hole!

ESPN's army of networks gives me about 2,000 live events per year, including college basketball, soccer, NBA, college football and NFL, but because they don't show enough decades-old baseball, they suck.
    Yeah, that makes sense.

It's because they also show a ton of crap. And a bunch of reruns. Car Auctions on Sunday mornings. How is that even a sport?
