Realignment gone crazy -- Sun Belt style

  1. If Denver moves, that will be four conferences in less than two years.

Doesn't mean much in the big picture but ORU would be a good replacement for Creighton's baseball program too.

I read somewhere, can't recall exactly so take with a grain of salt, that Denver had told them thanks but no thanks a couple of weeks ago. Of course, today's denial is tomorrow's press conference in which you celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Unless they're starting a football program Denver needs to stay right where it is.

The WAC, where they are now? Or the Summit, where's they've already agreed to go next year? Or the Sun Belt? AFC West?

The Sun Belt won't even be a D-I league in two years anyway.

And when the Big West split, Idaho and NMSU went to the mighty Sun Belt for football. It was a forgettable time for the Vandals, though it produced this gem in 2001:

Idaho never should have left the Big Sky Conference.

If only I had written something like "The WAC, where they are now?" in my last post. Ah, missed opportunities.
