His birth name was Warren Smith Aftter being fired by KB, he later worked for WGR and WBEN and was on the Lockport school board.

Ralph Lauren's real last name is some variation of Lipschitz, too.

Dyan Cannon was way hot well into the 1980s. She's also the mother of Cary's only child.

I had heard he died, no idea he worked at those other stations. Always loved Clipley's Believe It Or Don't.

From what I've read and heard, a few actors change names because the Guild won't let two people of the same name be members. ESPN's Matthew Berry couldn't go by Matt Berry because there was a TV writer with the same name.

It's true. And while I don't know if the guild existed back in the '30s, a British actor named James Stewart elected to change his name so he wouldn't be confused with Jimmy. So he became Stewart Granger instead.

On the flip side, today I read an article by David Brooks, and I had to read a bit to realize that it wasn't THAT David Brooks.

It's also why some actors go by their first-middle-last names or use their middle initials, a la Samuel L. Jackson.
