RB scores 10 touchdowns, team still loses

LEPANTO, Ark. (AP) - Kendric Smith scored 10 touchdowns, on runs ranging from 1 to 54 yards, and it still wasn't enough for Hughes High School.

Smith broke the state record for touchdowns in a game, the last coming in overtime, but Hughes lost 73-72 Friday night to East Poinsett County. He also scored on runs of 13, 20, 28, 35, 40, 45, 52 and 53 yards while breaking the Arkansas record of eight touchdowns in a game set by Alvin Bell of Little Rock in 1919 and matched by Chris James of Osceola in 2003.

 

Maybe he should have played a little linebacker, too.

 

It gets even better, actually.

The QB for the winning team had 835 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns. 222 rushing, 287 passing and he went apeshit on kick returns.
