Thought this was worthy of it's own thread.
Kinks frontman Ray Davies is working on an album of Kinks songs recorded/reworked with other artists.
Among the songs confirmed recorded are:
    "Better Things" with Bruce Springsteen
"Celluloid Heroes" with Jon Bon Jovi

Other rumored guests for the album include Chrissy Hynde, Lucinda Williams, David Bowie, the Killers, Metallica, and a bunch of others.

    Wouldn't it be a CD? ;)

Sounds like it could be a piece of work.
The Kinks body of work is vast. I think they are a very underated band.

Boom - I agree. The Kinks are very underrated. This could be a very good CD. I've got their live CD (I used to have the album), and several songs were later covered by the likes of Van Halen and the Pretenders - a sign of a very well-respected band.

I can't wait to hear Bon Jovi over-emote and take the best lines from the song (as he did with "I Don't Like Mondays" with Bob Geldof. YouTube it.)

Will Ray be doing "Tired of Paying Child Support for You" with Chrissie?

Sounds horrid to me, taking great songs and turning them into Jon Bon Jovi-style mawk fests.

The only Ray Davies duet that would inspire me is one with Dave Davies.

I love "Celluloid Heroes". I can't imagine what a train wreck Bon Jovi would turn it into. Fail.

Would love to see Ray Davies do something with Paul Weller.

Ray's also working on another set of studio tracks for a potential Kinks reunion.

Ray's tour is an acoustic one, and if you're at the right show you could be in for quite a treat..

Musicians refer to them as albums. Very hip.

He should do a duet with Noel Gallagher...and then one with Liam.
