    The incomparable sooper genius Weis:

    a) Apparently, after watching all the QBs in spring and summer practice, decided true frosh Clausen, when healthy, would be his starter. Fine.

    b) Apparently decided that as of 3:30 Saturday afternon, kickoff time, that Clausen was not sufficiently healed from his injury to start. Fine.

    c) Apparently decided that as of 6:00 Saturday afternoon, with 5:00 left in the fourth quarter and his team trailing 33-3 (Thirty Three to Three), and the ND quarterbacks having spent all afternoon getting belted around by the Georgia Tech pass rush (seven sacks to that point), that Clausen was now sufficiently healed enough to play.

Happily enough, Clausen was indeed violently sacked twice in the final moments of the game.

The sooper genius is starting to show some dents in his sooper genius helmet.

I definitely don't want to become the designated Weis defender, but the story was that Clausen wasn't 100 percent cleared to play until Sept. 1, therefore didn't get the reps in practice leading up to the GT game and therefore didn't start.

He now, however, has apparently had enough reps.
