I imagine that any park open in the Deadball Era would have a disproportionate number of 1-0 games than a park built in the last 30 years. Hell, Walter Johnson won 38 of them all by his own self.

Yeah, I'd say it's a stretch, since the Cubs didn't win.

I know George Bell never laid down a sac bunt in any of his 1,547 games.

Even stranger, at least on the surface - Babe Ruth stole home 10 times during his career. Barry Bonds, eat my shorts your heart out.

Okay, how about a staredown that doesn't necessitate everyone pouring in from the farthest point of the bullpens, some 400-odd feet away. Joke.

They didn't? I just saw the Green Monster scoreboard, so whoever won won 1-0. Either way, 1st time since July 1963 that a game at Wrigley and game at Fenway ended 1-0 on the same day. Not my stat -- tim McCarver got gooey telling it.

Tim McCarver is gooey. He used to be my favorite broadcaster when I was a kid watching the Mets on WWOR. But the dude loses a step or three every season.

John Sterling not acting like a buffoon when he gets behind the mic.

nevertheless, it's pretty rare. i wonder if anyone has ever balked three times in an inning, balking a runner from first all the way home.
