I was more thinking about how good of a season, say, Virginia had considering on where they fall into this bowl tree.

    Ha ha ha... :)

I've covered Orange, Sugar, Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Holiday, Outback, and Freedom.

From a media standpoint, Cotton Bowl was the best by far with the Fiesta being a close second. Orange was the worst by about 1,000 miles.

Freedom, I was a college student and was there only for gameday.

I did a couple Cotton Bowls several years apart. I think if you put a gun to my head it would be impossible for me to come up with a single criticism either time.

Fiesta was run pretty well. So was the Holiday.

Sugar wasn't run very well, but it's New Orleans and any time your hotel is walking distance from the game, it's a beautiful thing.

Outback was about what you would expect. The Rose Bowl wasn't very media friendly.

The Orange was a complete joke.

I'm guessing you meant to word this differently as the Cotton can't be the best by far if the Fiesta is a close second.

    OK, fine... :D

Cotton Bowl was damn near perfect. Fiesta was outstanding as well.

Great meal service at the Outback. They treat you like a king.

    I don't know . . . the 1996 Rose Bowl sure was a good one for that.

So was the 2002 Orange Bowl, and the 2006 Alamo Bowl.

    Honorable mention:

    1991 Citrus Bowl
1991 Peach Bowl (1991 was a great year for treatment of the media)
    1993 Insight.com Bowl
    2007 Holiday Bowl
    2010 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl

You can't complain about steaks at halftime. I remember several writers getting rid of the bloomin onions that they put next to us for a very early kickoff when quite a few were as hung over.

You can say the same thing about their opponent.

Yep. That's the last thing you want to see when you're riding the crest of a greasy hangover.
