Ranking the bowl games - which is better than the other

Does anyone want to try and rank, from top to bottom, the best bowl games to be invited to?

Honestly, I don't know enough about this to even give it a shot, but I am curious to see where everyone thinks these things rank.

In the good old days, it always seemed to be the later you played, the better the game, but that does not seem to be the case anymore.

Can anyone help me out here?

Is the Alamo better than the Insight? I have no idea? Where does Chick-fil-a rank?

We can't agree on ranking the teams. Now we want to rank the bowls?

    :)

Oh, let's be honest and rate them by how well they treat sportswriters. In my experience, the 1985 Cotton Bowl set standards for that that'll be hard to top.

I've always heard the Cotton Bowl was the best in terms of writer preference.

Hey, Mizzou. You've covered every bowl game ever...which was your favorite? :)

Cotton Bowl definitely treats writers well.

I should add that the Orange Bowl, the only other big bowl I covered, treated the writers well except for the atrocious working conditions in the old Orange Bowl, which was hardly the bowl game organization's fault.

Outside of the NCG and the Fiesta and maybe the Rose, the match-ups aren't very good. Boise in Vegas and TCU in the lesser San Diego bowl? Really unfortunate.
But lets be honest, the purpose of the bowls is to put cash in the pockets of the host city, nothing more, nothing less.

Capital One Bowl was garbage last time I went, especially when one considers how high up on the SEC pecking order it sits. Chick-Fil-A is a much better run bowl than the Cap One.

Now, that was two years ago. May be different now. I know that god-awful crumbling stadium in Orlando has at least put down a turf so there won't be another game playing in a mud trough.

That R and L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and New Mexico Bowl have always been activity-stoppers at my house.

Oh and congrats to Ohio State, whose pathetic season is rewarded with a 1/2/12 bowl.
