    32. All of them. We all know better.

Really? Rank all 32? I'd be stunned if anyone cared enough to actually do that. Then again, maybe not.

I was listening to a show last night and they were asking people how many coaches would you rather have than Sean Payton. Most people had him in their top four and the by the end of the conversation they were talking about who the worst coach in the league was.

Well, that's [insert number of minutes/hours] you'll never get back.

    That's a lot of typing.

I'm not even sure I could name all 32 coaches, let alone rank them.

Shanahan at 4 (and my inability to find a bunch of coaches to move ahead of him) is an indictment of the state of NFL coaching.

My team's coach: 1st or 32nd, depending on how they're doing.

The high turnover rate of coaches means this ranking is useless. How the hell do you evaluate a first year head coach of a trainwreck like the Lions, Chiefs or Rams? Any honest rating would have at least 10 "incompletes."

    Just some observations:

Belichick is far ahead as # 1

I would swith Whisenhunt and Ryan- Ryan still learning to be a head

As a group AFC West has worst and it shows.

Dungy and Cowher would be 2/ 3 if they were coaching.

I'd put Kubiak higher by about 10 slots

If you ranked them by offense/ defense you would see 2 distinct lists.
