Kix's "For Shame" is one of the most underrated power ballads ever.

This has unequivocally been the most interesting year I've ever lived. The shit I've seen will remain imprinted in my mind forever. And it'll all likely, or at least possibly, change tomorrow. It's kinda nerve wracking, the idea that you're staring down an impending, drastic change.

Riding bikes is the most underrated form of travel out there. It's great.

We need an anti-shoutouts thread. Shut up, yes we do.

I have never in all of my years heard of Kixs.
Why has it been so bad?
I like riding bikes, but when you live in places like mine, it seems like motorists are awarded secret points for attempting to run down/maim/kill bike riders and pedestrians.
I send an anti-shoutout to the haters of ARod on the Verducci thread!

OK, I got sucked into watching one of those TimeLife paid programming ads, this one for soft rock music....hosted by Air Supply. And now I am annoyed because I couldn't place the only tune that didn't have the "The Living Years -- Mike and the Mechanics" chyron underneath it. It started with some kind of distinctive saxophone number....it was the kind of thing you would hear on a soft-core porn movie with a good budget. From what I could tell of the silohoutte that came on, the sax player was a black guy with jeri curls. I realize that all I have done is narrow this down to every bad 80s soft rock song, but can someone place this for me before I go insane?

EDIT: I started Googling and it sounds similiar to Harden My Heart by Quarterflash, but I can't be sure that it is it.

It is too early to be drunk in the Mountain Time Zone, so I will assume you meant to type "hte"? If not, you are a designer and I am a writer, so what you say goes.

Are you referring to his new song with Akon?

    My thoughts:
    life is expensive
when you're a beer drinker, hard alcohol for the first time in a long time is bad
    college lectures are boring
new jobs and pay raises are cool

*Reason No. 3,444,277 why Alabama sucks: It goes from hotter-than-balls hot to 75 in like two days.
*Any album on iTunes that costs more than $9.99 and isn't a double album gets a laugh from me.
    *Sugar-free popsickles are a swell late-night reward.
*I can't believe Roboflop still plays for the England National Team.
*It's one thing to see racist behavior from old people, but it really angers me when someone my age spews the racist shit. I can't believe it happens.
*Sports radio should be better than it is.
*Why do all the networks have all their shows premiering this week, but Lost doesn't start for another two or three weeks?
*I think it's really important to pick a few people in your life (outside of family) and make the decision to stand by them regardless of what happens. You have to have really deep faith in people sometimes. I struggle with that because I'm a cynical person by nature. I didn't start living until I started truly believing in people. It made me a lot happier.

    - Fall's here, I like fall.

    - I think the internet is here to stay

    - I spent my day at MIT yesterday, brilliant students...but the vast majority have zero social skills.

    - Just watched the 3rd episode of this seasons "The Wire", amazing television.

    - I'm actually excited about the Bruins this season and the future of their franchise, so it's a safe bet I'll be cursing them by mid-December.

    - I'll be a father in less than 3 months and we still haven't decided on any names.

    Cadbury Cream Eggs...Yummy.
14-hour days in which you get paid for 8, with 2-3 of them in a row, suck.
    I like Marriott beds.

There's a lotta stuff in the old Looney Tunes that you don't get until you're an adult. Then you realize that these cartoons originated as theatrical previews for (ostensibly) adult-oriented movies. Saturday mornings on TV were still far into the distant future.

I love the "Knighty Knight Bugs" toon where Bugs is forced by King Arthur to recover the Singing Sword from the Black Knight, as portrayed by Yosemite Sam. Arthur's knights included "Sir Osis of Liver" and "Sir Loin of Beef."

I know it'll probably never happen, but I'd like to see the WW2 propaganda toon called "Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips."
