Rams' Steven Jackson - HOF?

I enjoy the HOF threads we have here, and I wanted to present one: Rams RB Steven Jackson.

    - Rams all-time leading rusher at more than 8,000 yards. Likely will top 10,000 before he's done.
    - 48 TDs so far
    - 3 Pro Bowls so far
    - More than 300 receptions for another 2600+ yards so far

My take - he's very borderline. A great RB on terrible, terrible teams. Another 2-3 good years will make him a viable candidate, especially if Bradford and the Rams become a decent team in that time.

This is the dumbest HOF thread yet.

So I guess I will officially vote nofuckingway.

Come back in five years. Maybe there will be a legitimate discussion then.

if he has 3 more seasons like he had in 06 yes. but the rams have a better chance of winning the super bowl.

I'm wondering with how much the running back position has been devalued whether Hall of Fame running backs will eventually go the way of the 300-game winner. They're so interchangeable. It seems like you can almost luck into a Hall of Fame career by being on the right team at the right time. Although that's true of all positions in football, it seems particularly acute with RBs.

He needs one more yard than Warrick Dunn, and I don't think he will ever be a country mile of Dunn.
