Rain gear

With Hurricane Ike dumping rain from the Great Lakes to the Gulf, I remembered my current rain jacket by The North Face isn't working too well. Last time I wore it, water seeped through the fabric. I got 12 years out of it, so I'm not too upset by that.

So, SJ experts, any suggestions for a new one?

I'm wanting to spend less than $300 so Arc'Teryx is probably out.

Find a Helly-Hansen (sp?) on sale somewhere like Sierra Trading Post or Cabela's.

Wasn't I the one who told you about that site Moddy?

I love it, but catching a rainproof/breathable jacket on there is tough. They sell so quickly.

if you're looking for a lightweight rain jacket, i recently found a marmot on sale. rolls up nice and tight and is perfect for late spring, summer and early fall.
