I read LJB's post, look at that pic.... and all I can think of is Galloway and Visser.

Trask is the one on the left, right?

Al Davis also tossed Mike Shanahan overboard after 20 games. Not that Art Shell, the first version, did a horrible job ...

Not in appearance, in ruthlessness and passion for aggressive dispute resolution.

The situation in Oakland has degenerated into a Howard Hughes-via-Noah Dietrich type thing.

Can you imagine being 31 years old, having no real authority because Al Davis is running the show, and trying to make Warren Sapp and Randy Moss pay you heed? The poor guy is doomed.

Moss has said for months that he is unable to make contact with Davis, that the old coot is just unreachable (in more ways than one). Sapp's said the same thing.

Monte Kiffin, one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL has never been a head coach...

His kid, who has never played or coached in the NFL, now is a head coach...

    Unbelievable...

Yeah, but Davis does seem to have a knack for finding young, talented coaches from the offensive side. What he does after he hires them is another matter these days.

Sports Illustrated did a terrific piece on Trask a few years ago.
